No. Hey Pingr works with any regular WhatsApp number — personal or business. You do not need the official WhatsApp Business API, a Meta Business Manager account, or Meta approval of any kind. This is one of the most common misconceptions about WhatsApp-based authentication: the official WhatsApp Business Platform requires Meta approval, has message template restrictions, and carries higher per-message costs. Hey Pingr uses a different approach — your WhatsApp number connects via a QR code scan in the Hey Pingr dashboard, the same way you'd link WhatsApp Web. The session is live within 30 seconds. We recommend using a dedicated phone number for your app rather than your personal number, for two reasons: it keeps your personal WhatsApp separate, and a dedicated number with consistent branding (e.g., "YourApp Login") creates a more trustworthy login experience for your users.
Messages continue to send — we never cut off your service mid-month. When you exceed your plan's included message count, additional messages are billed at your plan's per-message overage rate: $0.002 on Starter, $0.0015 on Growth, and $0.0008 on Scale. Overage charges are calculated at the end of your billing cycle and added to your next invoice. You can monitor usage in real time from the analytics dashboard — message volume and overage accrual are visible as they happen. If you consistently exceed your plan's limit by more than 20%, upgrading is almost always more cost-effective than paying overage rates. You can upgrade at any time from billing settings, and the change takes effect immediately with prorated credit for the remainder of your current period. Usage resets on your next billing date.
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time directly from your billing settings — no need to contact support. Upgrades take effect immediately: your new message limit and session count are available the moment you confirm, and the charge is prorated to the remaining days in your current billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep your current plan's features until then. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum contract on Starter, Growth, or Scale plans. If your volume fluctuates seasonally — common for apps in fintech, edtech, or e-commerce — you can upgrade during high-traffic periods and downgrade afterward without penalty. To change your plan, go to Dashboard → Billing → Change plan. The change takes effect within seconds and a confirmation email is sent automatically.
Yes. Session data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and encrypted in transit over TLS 1.3. Each customer's WhatsApp session runs in an isolated container — your session has no access to another customer's session, and vice versa. We never read, store, or log the content of messages sent through your session. The only data we retain is the recipient phone number, a delivery timestamp, and the delivery status (delivered, read, or failed) — the minimum required for webhook receipts and analytics. Message content is never written to disk on our infrastructure. We recommend using a dedicated phone number for your app rather than your personal WhatsApp number, so that credential rotation never affects your personal account. We accept all major credit and debit cards — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and RuPay — processed securely via Stripe. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of payment security certification; we never store your card details on Hey Pingr's servers. For Indian customers, UPI payments are available through the billing portal. Enterprise customers on Scale or custom contracts can pay via bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS/wire) with Net-15 or Net-30 invoice billing — contact sales@heypingr.com to arrange this. Subscription charges are billed monthly in advance on your plan start date. Overage charges from the previous month are added to the next invoice. Subscription prices are shown in USD; overage rates are billed in INR for India-registered accounts. GST-compliant invoices are available to download from the billing section of your dashboard at any time.
Yes. Every plan — Starter, Growth, and Scale — includes a 7-day free trial with no charges until the trial ends and no credit card required at signup. During the trial you have full access to all features of your selected plan: the live API, webhook delivery, the analytics dashboard, and multi-session management on Growth and Scale. A test API key is automatically provisioned so you can build and test your integration in a sandbox environment without consuming your trial message quota. When you're ready to go live, switch from test to production in the dashboard. If you reach the end of your 7-day trial without upgrading, your account is paused — no charges are made, and your configuration is saved for 30 days so you can resume where you left off. No cancellation required to end the trial.
